er, food IS expensive on sentosa because its a *cough*cough*money sucking tourist cheating trap*cough*cough* so we just have lunch there or something?

i don't know if the toilets there are clean or whether we will run out shrieking madly... does anyone know? :)

I would like to suggest that we meet at Harbourfront MRT...maybe get some Frühstück into ourselves first, yes? And as for stuff to bring...some additions, yes?

-toiletries, if you ladies want to shower
-towel so you can dry yourselves off (or you can just spread it on the sand and suntan)
-sun-tanning oil (which beats sunscreen hands-down for a tan; i have a bottle...SPF 4 only!)
-cash if we're going for dinner together...?
-at least 1 litre of water...e.g. a Nalgene bottle would be useful
-ziploc bags (or at least, plastic bags) for all your wet clothing

Yeah. That's about it. Not gonna mention the rifle, helmet, etc etc. Haha...

hello dears!

okay, because we had so much fun out the other day, and because i love cycling and getting active so that the nasty alien life form known as cellulite will somehow disappear, and i know that mabel and ziling and gj all like cycling too (right? right?) we will have a LEPer sentosa day!
YAY! and i don't think anyone likes a lot of hot air and no action so i've actually checked out what we can do and all.

tentative date is: 9th of july. around 10 am or 10.30?
okay, to go there it costs $3. let's hope it doesn't rain!

On the sentosa website, it says you may rent a bike to explore the island from the bicycle kiosks at these 3 locations:
Ferry Terminal
Siloso Beach
Palawan Beach
Operating hours: 10am - 7pm daily
here is the map that you can look at. i vote we take it from the ferry terminal so we can cycle to the beach, swim or play games or tan there and then slowly cycle back to the ferry terminal. siloso beach is fine too!

anyone up for a nature trail? we can do this: http://www.sentosa.com.sg/explore_sentosa/explore_nature.htm

i guess its pretty much free and easy, the most important thing is that you all are there :)

okie, a little update on whats going on in my life so far. Been working at a interior designer/construction company for abt a week. Everything's okie so far... I'm in the construction department, and half the time the construction and project managers are out at the site office. So i just sit in the office and do whatever they want me to do. haha..its like being a slave to many many managers. And the best part is i can observe for myself how pple react in the corporate world. the managers here are not exactly highly motivated, so every morning i hear the department head calling them up to check up on them and then requesting that they go to a certain site office. haiyo.....then i would start recalling all that i've learned in my BGS and LTB classes ( Mabelle would know what these modules are like). and i would think to myself, working life is really tough! thank goodness i am still schooling, albeit only 3 more years to go.

The hols are super lloonnngg..that means we can meet up more often! Tar, Mab and GJ, you guys free???? yeah lets go Sentosa. hehe....now that we've all mastered the art of cycling, we can go anywhere! and yes! heidi got her license...haha. i gave my friends a lift 2 days ago, with my dad in the car so i wun turn into a mad driver. and guess what? They certified me mad! haha. heidi needs more practice, then we can go on supper trips to Jalan Kayu!

okie, thats all the update for now. i would be here quite often, cause work is really boring! haha. see you guys around!

Ich bins wieder... ganz viel schon vorbei. erste Klausurs schon bestanden und vorbei. jetzt arbeite bei Siemens während meine Semesterferien. Tickets für Weltmeisterschaft sind nur im Internet vorhanden. also... Leute die Fußball anschauen wollen müßen die Tickets online kaufen... leider kann man die Tix nicht in Nürnberg kaufen. Naja... gibs ganz viel Schnee in Nürnberg und in Würzburg. und es bleib liegen... wie toll... hab schon meine erste Schneemann gebaut und kaputt gemacht. hat auch ganz viel spaß gemacht besonders beim kaputt machen. wetter ist jetzt arsch kalt. starke wind und niedrige temperaturen. wir hatten gestern -17 grad... also nicht so toll... also... machs gut alle. hello everyone!

i'm back in school [yay! no honestly, not meant to be sarcastic: yay! i really like school! ] and i'm happily waiting for lecture to start so i'm making use of NUS's "free" wireless internet! [not really free when you think about the school fees!]

i LOVE wireless internet! and stealing my neighbour's wireless net connection!

oh and for legal theory lectures we're watching this film called judgment at nuremberg which is about the americans prosecuting the smaller Nazi fry after world war I and its super cool and and has marlene dietrich von blaue engel and this super fwah german attorney played by maximilan schell who was really good looking in the film though now he's old and the characters playing the germans actually do speak a tad bit of german although its an english film and schraudy will be so stolz to hear that i UNDERSTOOD and did anyone catch practical magic cos i really like that show too cos it has aidan quinn and sandra bullock and the soundtrack is cool!

[the point of that statement was to demonstrate the possibility of actually rattling off without any punctutation.
ok, i was bored.
and it doesn't help that the song stuck in my head goes something like
"i should be so lucky, lucky lucky lucky"...

Halloechen meine liebe Leute,

noch ein Jahr ist vorbei gegangen. Wie schnell die Zeit sich vergeht, ne? Eines Tages haben wir die A level Pruefungen fertig geschrieben und ploetzlich ist der erste Semester des Unis oder viele viele Monaten in der Armee vorbei.

Also, hier sind meine Vorsaetze fuer das neue Jahr...ich wuensche dass wir immer weiter unsere Freundschaft pflegen, dass wir immer weiter lernen, erfahren und verstehen koennen und dass wir immer weiter wissen, wie schoen das Leben ist und wie gluecklich wir eigentlich sind.

Hey peeps!

Happy New Year darlings! I am so glad that our friendship survived another year. Hooray to us!

It has truly been a great year for me. Exciting things happened and i really feel like i'm living the life i want. i am definitely looking forward to 2005. we'll all be 20 years old! haha....thats a tot eh? no longer in our teens...we are officially young adults! imagine that!

i just get the feeling that the year just passes faster and faster. like when i was 12 years old, it took forever to get to 13. but then after that, it like zoomed straight to 19. i wonder how life would be like when we step into the 20 range. i really hope time would slow down, then i could savour this peak in my life. turning 30 is not something that i am looking forward to! haha......

Yeah ich kann die Sachen noch erinnern... Ich find es unglaublich daß es schon 2 Jahre ist... Die Zeit ist so schnell verschwunden... Ich werde alle die Plätze wir besucht haben wieder besuchen... Fahre nächste Wochenende nach Venedig mit meiner Mutter. 1st stop!!! Burano... Lace und Glas einkaufen und dann wird auch zur der Trattoria gegenüber Hotel Dolomiti gehen... freue mich darüber... Danach zurück zur Accademia um mich zu verlieren... hahahha... ich werde ganz viele Fotos davon machen... hehhee... und am internet lassen... muss gehen... ciaoz....schönes Wochenende noch....

Aaaaah...die schoene Tage, als wir junger waren, und die Welt ein schoeneres Platz war...

Aei, warte, es war nur 2 Jahren vor dass wir die Europa Reise gemacht haben. Sorry, sorry. Mein Schuld.

Also...mann...es war doch eine tolle, wunderbare, unglaublich supere Zeit, oder? Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern...

1. Die schlechte lange Tage als Frau Wurst Chong mit uns bis 5 Uhr Nachmittags rum Venedig gelaufen ist...sie hat immer gesagt, dass wir alle die Kirche in Venedig besuchen mussten! Dann haben wir ein Krieg-Kommittee dagegen gegrundet....

2. Gelato! Die 14 oder mehr Geschmacke dass wir immer zurueck zum Zimmer gebracht haben! Und jaaaaaa...die Gelato Ritualen! Prost!

3. Postkarten! Bilder! Denk' mal an das schoene Bild, dass Mabelle von der Sonnenuntergang gemacht hat.

4. Spitze, Glas und Masken!

5. Der Raum der Stille!

6. Ein langer Spaziergang dass wir entlang Unter den Linden gemacht haben. Dann haben GJ, Woon und ich Ein Zwei Drei Frolic! gespielt.

7. Tuerkisches Essen! Currywurst und Pommes mit Mayo!

8. Kuh'damm! Muss ich mehr sagen?

9. Judaiisches Museum! Vielen Dank, Tar! Du hast den Vorschlag zuerst gemacht und es war einen ruehrenden und tiefsinnigen Besuch.

10. Unsere Spitze Schmetterlingen und die Ampelmaenner aus Venedig und Berlin! Wir sind doch ein Team!

11. Unsere deutsche Schwester und Brueder endlich in Altensteig getroffen zu haben!

12. Stocherkahnfahren in Tuebingen! Die Fotos, worin Mabelle und ich geraucht haben. Heehee.

Ich bin gleichzeitig froehlich und auch traurig...wir haben so viele tolle Momenten zusammen erfahren, oder? Ich wuensche, dass wir nochmal zusammen nach Deutschland gehen koennen...vielleicht in 10 Jahren treffen wir uns am gleichen Tag (24. Mai, ja?) im Flughafen und fahren wir....*sigh*

So here i am waiting in Terminal 1 at the airport...gone in already...schoene Erinnerungen, oder? Yup i remember each and every one of them...won't ever forget the secret place we found in Venedig or the hills around Altensteig. Won't forget the times me and Alex went running through the Schwarzwald. Sigh...so many memories...if only we could re-live them again, i think we'd give everything we had, oder?

Hab auch keine Lust, auf Deutsch zu schreiben...my mind is totally focussed on BATTLE KING now...(hell it better be when you've got to go to Gate C1 at 0215) so...some shoutouts...

oh man, reading that sure brought back super duper nice memories! i'm not going to type in german, its going to take too long for me to formulate the sentences. hah.

yeah tar, those were great times. the times when we hang around our super duper cool austausch pple and those silly cina girls would be staring at our gorgeous german dudes. here are some of my memories of our entire trip....here goes:

1) venice- our gelato sessions!
remember those times when we would da-bao gelato back to the hotel corridor? all that limone and hazelnet and chocolate? then we would gather round the 2 boxes of intoxicating gelato and have our ritual....i really wished we could go back to that time man! us and our little plastic spoons, and that ending toast. how many times did we do that? like 3 times? we should have done more than that!

2) my home alone with jas, woon and mario
haha....i can only remember you guys kept on laughing. dunno what you guys laughing abt also. just know that all of you guys were on the floor. and i was standing there wondering what the hell just happen. honestly i was thinking of running away. haha.....that was the day we split up. tar and pris and mab went with frau chong to do some shopping and you guys came back with the lovely butterflies. the lace ones remember? i love my little butterfly!

3) at tuebingen
this was the one with tar and the bakery with the funny name. haha...and i still have the photo of mab and jas pretending to smoke those fake cigarettes. and the guys were so anxious to catch some soccer match....and frau chong was equally anxious to do some shopping (wie immer!). then we went on that stockerkahnfahren. and you guys took turns steering us around...and those little duckies! i remember jas really adored those ducks! remember the long walk along the river under the endless rows of trees? nice place eh?

4) ohh...how can i forget the venice nights?
remember our secret place we found? the one facing the sea? we sat there singing songs for what seemed like eternity. then woon taught us some funny song that rhymes and i never seem to get it. hah.....i really wanna go back there and sing songs with you guys again, those were wonderful times.

i am definitely on for the 2006 trip. you guys must come okok? any one got anymore memories to share?

Ja, wir haben das exact gemacht. Aber jetzt denke ich es war ein bisschen peinlich... es ist so... so... so... um... corny! Those were good times, when we all sat and sniggered at the SCORES of people who came down to the grandstand and sat near us in the morning AND how we suddenly became the most 'popular' people in school and having the luxury of privately going 'AHAHAHA LOOOOSERS!' when people you didn't really like sidled up to you and asked to be introduced or just generally hung around you like your incubators were next to each other when you were born.

I miss those times. Sigh. Venezia mit Gelato rituals, Berlin mit The War Plans against Chong [though on hindsight i am oh so grateful she came along instead of Schrauron] and Altensteig mit das Christophorus-Gymnasium und Frau Herzog-Brake und das Aufenthaltsraum.

Hallo ihr alle da draussen...Zuerst...HALLO JAZ! Endlich bist du ja hier angekommen...lese deine Erzählungen darüber, was bei dir losgehen...freu mich auch, von dir was lesen zu können! Liebchen, es gibt doch gar keine Kommunisten, du brauchst mal vielleicht ein wenig Geduld und alles wird hoffentlich wunderschön, oder? 20 Tagen gehen auch ziemlich schnell vorbei, ich glaube, wir kommen an demselben Tag in Singapur an, wie schön, oder? Alles sieht echt geil aus... alle Gebäude im Innenstadt sind schön geschminkt... Weihnachtsmarkt ist schon geöffnet... aber ich hab bis jetzt nicht so viel Zeit da zu gehen... aber hab schon Termin mit mein Freund am Samstag... (Wir gehen Weihnachtsgeschenke kaufen!! Ich werd viele Fotos davon machen... yeah...)

Jaz... Schade daß ich nicht gehen kann... ich will so sehr... aber leider klappt es nicht... Hey ihr alle da draussen besonders fuer euch Prinzessinen alle...Hier bin ich endlich angekommen, oder? Wells...things are quite smooth except for me driving myself crazy over BATTLE KING which is this large-scale artillery live-firing. Too bad lah. I'm already in the support battalion so i won't be at the guns so much...which may be good. Or bad. I don't know also. I just know that it's going to be crazy, crazy tekan and crazy fun...like you're paid to go on holiday...haha...When i come back i'll be commissioning...yup on that parade square in SAFTI in my No. 1...woah...the pride man...it's the culmination of 42 weeks of blood sweat and shit so i guess it means something!

Okay, ich geb zu...ich lese, höre deutsche Musik...reicht das schon ausser das Aussprechen...da kriegt man hier keine Gelegenheit! Also hab ich auch paar Bücher, wenn ihr deutsch lesen wollt ohne wieder in der Hölle namens GR35 zu gehen...Ick glaube sie tobt noch da drinnend...yup...auch Musik...Wenn ihr Musik wollt, könnt ihr sie kaufen und an Priscilla schicken...es kostet viel weniger, als es nach Singapur zu schicken...das find ich auch scheiss teuer...

Sowieso geh ich gleich nach Thailand, ich vermisse euch wie verrückt und sehne mich nach dem nächsten Treffen... Inzwischen...Schont euch okay? Ich weiss dass es ganz stressig ist, eine Uni-Studentin zu sein...(plötzlich verliere ich die Lust, studieren zu gehen...vielleicht ist ein Armée-Leben besser haha) Und ihr!! Schreibt regelmäßig! oh yeah, one more thing. i think i saw mark low that day at junction eight! i'm quite sure its him leh. but he was wearing this horribly tight sleeveless muscle tee with jeans and he was hanging out with this muscle man. so i seriously think he might have turned gay! haha.....that my little bit of exciting news for the week...

ich bin zu faul, auf deutsch zu schreiben, but you're free to use whatever language you guys want =) aber doch denke ich dass wir manchmal auf deutsch schreiben sollen, um unsere [heck the endings, we're not in GR35 anymore] deutsch zu ueben. warum? because.. i am vergessen-ing my deutsch rapidly.
how're you all? hope you guys are okie dokie and everything's jackadory!
i guess this blog is for all of us to catch up and all since we don't see each other often... i think mabel and ziling are the only two who see each other and i'm ALL ALONE in nus and jas is in the states and gj is in the army and pris is in germany...

i REALLY should be studying for my contract law paper but OH WELL. anyway, how's everyone? oh wait i said that already.
anyway, oh man! ok, right now i want to go back to germany! ok maybe not now but in 2006 definitely for the world cup! and i hope that sweden gets in!
in case you all don't know, i LOVE sweden and the swedish and more specifically the swedish goalkeeper andreas isaksson! [better than, uh, my crush on meine wirtschaft lehrer definitely]
but i love germany a lot too! okie anyway i'm mad.

ANYWAY yes okie since a lot of people are making trips out of the country this december, i'll make myself feel better by telling you about the New York trip. went for the 57th UN DPI NGO conference and it was fun! went with two other law students, and i was the only female. it was quite fun and i really enjoyed myself. if i can upload a pic i'll upload it soon =) anyway, i really enjoyed myself [ think i said that already] and i'm sure ziling can tell you as well that nyc is a fantastic place! it was made more fun by the fact that we were unchaperoned and the two guys were really funny and entertaining travel companions. my only complaint is that i felt bad because the rooms were messy and i had to endure the messiness and what's worse i tripped over my friend's jeans one day and fell FLAT on my face. BAH.
oh but let me tell you what happened: at john f kennedy airport, my luggage lock was broken by the baggage handlers/screeners in the interests of national security! bah. and the guy i travelled with had his bag unmolested. BAH. they're biased against small girls. sizist.
but it was great fun!

okie okie and as for school so far, i like school! a lot! and i'm surviving like everyone, but ultra busy. like now for instance: i'm supposed to be mugging! haha =)
